The banner ad manager is designed to directly enable non-technical users to load banners onto dozens of partner storefronts, control the links, display times, and automatically QA their submissions. This system reduced the number of people needed to update these advertisements from the original 5 down to 2. It also enabled teams to work ahead and time-stamp their changes instead of attempting to run updates in the night physically. The banner system is also self cleaning – most banners have a short shelf life (7-14 days) and the system automatically removes most banners after 90 days radically cutting down on file counts and unnecessary data.
